Dirigida por Francis Lawrence y protagonizada por un elenco estelar que incluye a Ralph Fiennes, Jesse Plemons, McKenna Grace, Joseph Zada, Glenn Close y Kieran Culkin, entre otros, la precuela se sitúa 24 años antes de la primera película, cuando un joven Haymitch Abernathy (Zada) es elegido para los 50º Juegos del Hambre.
Estos juegos marcan el segundo Vasallaje de los Veinticinco, que se celebra cada 25 años para conmemorar el cuarto de siglo de la represión de la rebelión de los distritos por parte del Capitolio.

Si bien el tan esperado reinicio de X-Men de Marvel Studios está tomando forma poco a poco, aún sabemos muy poco sobre las historias que seguirá la película y los personajes que conformarán el nuevo equipo.
Sabemos que Jake Schreier, director de Thunderbolts*, estará al mando, y el cineasta reveló recientemente que Sonny Lee Sung Jin (Beef) y Joanna Calo (The Bear) se unieron al proyecto para escribir una nueva versión del guión de Michael Lesslie.
Ahora, Schreier ha revelado qué serie de X-Men de Marvel Comics inspirará (al menos parcialmente) el reinicio del UCM.
«Han llegado y están trabajando en un borrador ahora mismo, lo cual es realmente emocionante, poder reunir a este grupo de personas de nuevo», le dice a Collider.
